Maximizing My Arena Summon rewards

I think it’s about time that I post the tips on how to prioritize on which color to pick when redeeming the arena summon reward. Starting 12/6, we can get 1 arena ticket per week and with that ticket we can get a 4* special hero. So, it’s best to plan on how to maximize the rewards.

In order to evaluate the best options for me, I lay out all of my options in excel. I created my own criteria on what I considered important for me. Follow along to see how I go about my available options. That way, you can also plan for which is the best options for you – considering gacha luck varies for all players.

Missing/Merge

That’s the first criteria I use. Why do I use this as my first criteria? Fire Emblem Heroes is a game where we play with our favorites. Gameplay is very shallow. It’s not like traditional Fire Emblem game, there’s pretty much no continuation.

I use the following questions:
– Do I have that hero? If not, then do I want to get that hero? If the answer is yes, then mark that as 1.
– If I have that hero, is it a merge project? If the answer is yes, then mark that as 1.
– If I cannot answer those questions with “yes”, then mark that as 0.

Bad

This is the second criteria. Since not all heroes are created equal, some heroes are better than others. Some are very weak compared to others.

Basically, the question that needs to be answered:
– Will I be sad if I got that hero out of all the available hero in the banner? If the answer is yes, then mark that as 1. If not, then mark as 0.

Game mode

The next part is to decide which game mode will I use that hero. For me, the modes I like to play or at least try to be somewhat near the top tier are the Arena and Aether Raids. Thus, I use these criteria:
– Assist: Rally+ or Rally 1/2 => If the hero has Rally+, mark as 1. If the hero has the 2nd rally type such as rally atk/spd (not the +), mark as 0.5 – 2nd rally type is sometimes useful in order to maximize other skill inheritance. Otherwise mark as 0.
– Special: 500 SP specials like Aether, Galeforce, Rupture Sky, etc
– Skill3: useful 240SP skills like null follow up, swift sparrow 2, etc
– Skill4: 300 SP skills like swift sparrow 3, etc

All Data

feh_evaluate_arenareward

That’s the screenshot of part of the list of heroes I made after I spent about 30 minutes to evaluate all the current available 4* special heroes that we can get. Some heroes don’t offer anything, but I don’t mind getting another. So, 0 in terms of usefulness but at the same time, I’m not really sad getting 1, for example Alm. Some hero has 3 in terms usefulness, such as Brave Eliwood who has Rally+, swift sparrow 3 and Ruse 3 (only available on 5* hero). After that, I simply tally all them up. There are 4 heroes categories: red, blue, green and colorless (gray/silver). 55 red, 37 blue, 32 green and 25 gray.

I added another criteria to simplify the result.
– Useful: if any value in Missing, Assist, Special, Skill3 or Skill4 is not zero, then I mark that hero as useful as I can make use of that hero.

Summary

Here’s the summary for me.

feh_arenareward_summary

What should I do now that I have all of that data? The summary shows the chance for me of getting the useful hero for me.

So, When I click the “Redeem” button on the arena reward banner, depending on the color that appear on the summoning screen:
– The best color for me to choose is colorless. I have 48% chance of getting the hero that I don’t have or that I want to merge. I have higher chance of getting the skills that I can use for the arena.
– If I need specials, then Red is the best color for me. I have 16.9% chance of getting special fodder if I pick Red.
– If I need the Rally+, then Green is the best color for me. 10.9% chance of getting that fodder.

In terms of overall usefulness, green, colorless and blue are very similar. If have close to 1 in 4 chances for getting a useful hero. Lower chance to get useful red hero – 1 in 5.

Before I did this analysis, I picked Blue. Why? Simply because there’s Brave Hector. I really want him. But, as you can see from the table above, the likelihood that I will be sad with the summoning result is the highest at 35.1%.

Heroes I got

Season 12/6 – 12/12: Only red and colorless stones are available. I picked red and got Sigurd
Season 12/13 – 12/19: Red/blue/green are available. I picked blue and got Nephenee
Season 12/20 – 12/26: Red/Blue are available. I picked blue and got Brave Eliwood
Season 12/27 – 1/2/2023: The 4th season and I decided to do this analysis before picking my hero. All colors are available. I picked colorless and got Caineghis.

So, the first 2 seasons, I don’t get useful heroes. 3rd and 4th week, I got heroes that I can use. Rally+ and merge project (or Distance Defense 4 fodder).

Everyone has different needs as the gacha luck vary for each players. So, try it yourself, do your own analysis to maximize your chance to get the hero you need for the modes you play.
