Welcome to this week’s Hypixel Skyblock news! This week was definitely a quiet one for Hypixel Skyblock, at least on the main server. This edition of This Week in Hypixel Skyblock covers important events that happened from October 10 – October 16!

Everything Opened Again (October 10)
Following the massive dupe that basically shut down all of Hypixel Skyblock at the end of last week, everything that was disabled has been reopened again. I unfortunately wasn’t there for the reopening since I was essentially unable to log in to Hypixel (scroll down to the next event to see why).

Logging In… Disconnected Bug (October 10 – October 14)
There seems to have been a bug affecting a large number of players, causing them to get kicked upon joining Hypixel. Plenty of complaints were made on the forums. On October 14th, late at night, the affected players (including me) were able to log in normally again.
Strangely enough, Hypixel mentioned that the bug affected players in 1.14+. However, this patch also fixed the issues me and a bunch of other players were running into, and we were in 1.8.9.

End Update, Kuudra Revamp on Alpha Server (October 13)
The Admins have released the Kuudra revamp and the End Update onto the Alpha server. If you want to check out the forum post with some notable features, here you go. Here’s a google doc with more screenshots and details about the update preview.
End Update
To summarize the biggest key points about the End Update:
- Lone Adventurer Questline
- New Zone: Bruiser Zealots Hideout
- Dragon Essence Shop
Because of this, the Dragon Essence prices have gone through the roof.
Outside of the end, there only seems to be this perk which may be useful:
However, most players use a Golden Dragon for damage, and not the Ender Dragon pet. This likely will go to tier 5, and having 10 extra Crit Damage I don’t think will make that big of a difference. There is another perk which grants extra ferocity against Dragons, however, that is not useful in M7 because ferocity doesn’t affect the dragons in the final phase of the Necron fight.
There’s a few new talismans, equipment, and bows, but they’re used for the end only.
Kuudra Revamp
The Kuudra boss fight definitely looks a lot cooler. You can check out a video showcasing it here:
Burning and Fiery Tier (3rd and 4th Tier) of Kuudra were released on the Alpha. From the few YouTube videos posted on this, it appears that it will take around 10-20 minutes per fight, and it does not look like an easy fight. It does look really cool though.
Some key notes:
- The gist of the fight is to build a Ballista to use against Kuudra. There’s lots of boss animations, and overall, is a very cool-looking fight.
- There are now classes and more perks to choose from.
- The problem with this is that especially in the middle of a Kuudra fight, who has time to read these descriptions in depth?
- Burning and Fiery Tier still only drops 1 Kuudra key.
- It does drop higher-tier attribute shards. But I think the majority of players are doing this for the Kuudra Teeth to upgrade their armor. The Burning and Fiery Tier Kuudra fights still barely drop Crimson essence (~20), so it’s still not a good way to farm essence. Overall, the rewards seem quite lackluster considering the time the player has to spend completing these boss fights.
- It takes a lot longer than the previous Kuudra fight did.
- You can do the basic tier of Kuudra previously in under 2 minutes with a good team, and 3 minutes with a pretty bad team.
- The Kuudra fight generally is a lot harder, requiring better gear than the previous Kuudra fight.
- This means it will be locked to more late-game players, which there are less of. The problem with this is that in a similar way to M6, and M7, is that it can take upwards of 45 minutes to an hour to find a party, especially at off-peak hours. Given that there still isn’t a party finder system for Kuudra, finding a party to play with involves lobby hopping and asking in public chat if anyone wants to join your party, which is not fun. It also doesn’t help that it’s very rare that I see someone lobby hopping looking to form a Tier 2 Kuudra party. And Tier 3, 4 and eventually 5 will be even less after the first few days or so.
Bits Shop
There are new items in the Bits Shop!
These items say they cost 0 bits, but that’s a placeholder.
Black Dye is finally here! (And white dye too, of course.) It was mentioned in an earlier forum post that this would most likely cost 250k bits.
And also the item that people wanted for a while – you can turn a player-head item into a placeable block. You lose the original item, however.
There’s also this perfume, which basically lets you get the heavy pearls from the Matriarch up to 3 times per day (for 9 pearls total).
Conclusion
