Intelligent Systems introduced new customization support park this month – Castle theme that give temporary 5x SP for 90 days and lowered to 2x SP after the promotional period end. I think this move is actually pretty acceptable practice. Most people think this is fine. It helps those who don’t have time and want to play quickly. Those who don’t want to pay will just have to play or spend more time to achieve the same thing. This practice has been done since the beginning – since Angry Bird time.

The pack costs $8.99. In addition to the theme, you’ll get the usual small amount of orbs. SP is important yet not so important. We can get SP by playing normally. However, the progress is pretty slow and requires lots of time and stamina. We get SP for every enemies we defeat and every level up. Once the hero reached top level 40, we’ll only get 3 SP per enemy. Valor skill will 2x the SP. Legendary and Mythic heroes plus blessings will 2x the SP too. Leveling up skills require SP, ranges from 60 SP to 500 SP per skill level. So, it requires time to defeat lots of enemies to collect enough SP to upgrade the skills.
I usually wait until weekend to level up any new heroes because IS has made 2x SP pretty permanent on weekend and 5x on special occasion, such as Anniversary, golden week, Christmas, etc. If I play on normal weekend, I could get 3 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 24 SP per enemies. During special occassion, we could get 3 x 2 x 2 x 5 = 60 SP. It makes it a lot easier to upgrade in less time. It makes the game more casual. This is a good move and can help the game.
However, I think making this permanent at that price is not wise. I think they should follow other games like Angry Bird. Lower the price and make it temporary, rather than permanent. For example: $0.99 for 5x SP for a month, etc.
Will I be getting this pack? No, not at the moment. I won’t be supporting this game unless they remove all of their gacha mechanics. It doesn’t matter how good the game is and whether this move is the right move. I simply won’t be supporting games that promote gambling.
