Our Journey to Buying a Non-Tier Boosted Legendary Ender Dragon Pet

A while ago, we bought a level 100 epic ender dragon pet. You can see that post here. Our next goal was to get a legendary ender dragon pet, without putting a tier boost on it.

We scoured the auction house, looking for a legendary non-tier boosted ender dragon pet which had no pet candies on it. Sadly there were none of those being sold. So, we waited patiently for someone to put one up. Finally, someone by the name of iM_sXon put up a Legendary level 1 Ender Dragon pet up.

The thing with bidding on Ender Dragon pets is that the prices you have to pay fluctuates so much, since there are so few on the auction house. Once we saw this Ender Dragon put up, we went all-in for it.

Looking at the other auctions for Legendary Ender Dragons at the moment, we estimated that we needed around $380,000,000 coins in order to afford it. So, we began the long process of selling pretty much everything we had in order to scrounge up that many coins.

Leveling Up Our Ender Dragon

We needed to sell our current tier-boosted ender dragon to hopefully earn a good amount of money. Recall that we bought the level 100 epic ender dragon for $215,014,135 coins.

However, we were disappointed that when we put the tier boost on, the pet immediately downgraded to level 96.

By the time iM_xSon put up his level 1 Ender Dragon, we had leveled up our pet from level 96 all the way up to nearly level 99. We needed about 1.9m more xp for the pet to level it up to level 100.

Since I had a much higher taming level than my coop, I was the one to grind out the xp that we needed to level up the pet. Tier 3 Revenant Horror slayers were what I chose to do, as it gave decent combat XP without being too expensive. After doing around 200 of these, the pet leveled up to 100.

Selling A Lot

When playing Skyblock, our coop has a lot of money, but it’s all in item-form. We rarely have coins in the bank, but we do have tons of items. For instance, we had a set of every dragon armor in the game just lying around somewhere in our base. We also had tons of Skeleton Horse pets and Legendary Golem pets just lying around. Additionally, we even had a maxed-enchanted rod of legends just sitting around, and a shredder that we got and haven’t sold yet.

We set up our Ender Dragon for about 14 hours because we figured that we aren’t going to get low bids because of how few non-pet candied level 100 tier boosted ender dragons there were.

selling_ender_drag_sirknightjAs you can see here, I’m holding a lot of money on me.selling_ender_drag_sirknightj_item_descriptionWe initiated the spring cleaning order and started selling all extra things we had. We sold a lot of our items to get this.

Here was our approximate coin breakdown:

  • Just sitting in the bank: 60m
  • Tier Boosted Ender Drag: 257m
  • Spirit Sceptre: 20m
  • Wither Artifact: 10m
  • Leg. Monkey Pet: 26m
  • Black Cat: 15m
  • Enchanted Sugarcane: 9m
  • Skeleton Horse (2) – 9m
  • Legendary Golem – 5m
  • Tier Boost – $27,777,777
  • Leftover Dragon Loot – $18m
Placing the Bid

iM_sXon’s auction ended at a weird time for us, about 8am. Since it was summer, we set up alarms, but we both slept through them, and didn’t end up bidding on it. This was a huge setback. Now, we were left with about $465m coins and no pet.

We were told that the level 1 pet went for $515m by our guild members, but we’re not sure if it actually did or not, since the auctions checker website was being worked on and not tracking things properly at the time.

We decided at this point, that we didn’t need a non-pet-candied pet. It really doesn’t matter that much.

So, we just found one ending soon that was close enough to level 100 and bid on it, because we really didn’t want to level it up again.

This was what we ended up buying:

ender_drag_bid_sirknightjI hope you enjoyed our story of how we bought the most expensive pet in the game. Was it worth it? Maybe. The only reason you’d want one of these is to be able to have the pet item slot not be clogged up with a Tier Boost item, so in this case, we could place a Lucky Clover there, or Sharpened Claws there.
