Valorant patch 8.09 came out today. A couple bug fixes and a Brimstone buff. In this article, I will be going over the changes.
The Main Change
Brimstone’s smoke radius increased by 5, from 410 to 415. Although it doesn’t look that big, you can definitely notice the difference. This wont make too big of a difference with regular site smokes, however, it will make one way smokes way better. One way smokes are smokes that are not on the ground, so it basically covers the enemies line of sight while revealing their legs. So basically, it will be harder for the enemy to see you.
Smaller Changes
- Fixed an issue that resulted in you losing your crosshair profiles.
- I had this happen to me. I went to play premier over the weekend and found that all my crosshairs were gone. Luckily I only use a few and remember them, so it wasn’t too bad.
- Fixed an issue regarding Killed By feed on Combat Reports being incorrect.
- I didn’t notice this, but this is pretty minor.
- Fixed bullet tracers still being visible after being turned off in Settings if the player fires away from the map.
- Bullet tracers help you control your spray, so I think it is better to have them on. It does like nicer though if you have them off, so I can see why you would turn them off and this bug would be annoying.
- Fixed an issue where the client would freeze after a game ends and would require a client restart to continue.
- This has never happened to me, but I can imagine this being annoying to encounter.
That’s all for this patch, I don’t think Brimstone will be played more, Clove is just a better agent overall. I think a bigger change would be needed for Brimstone to be picked more again.
