The garden update to Hypixel Skyblock is a game-changer, and makes it one of the best ways to make money in the game. This makes more than armadillo mining in the crystal hollows, and it also doesn’t require you to have the best gear. In this post, I will be going over how you can make lots of money from the new update. This is not a tutorial on how to use the garden. Gear
You should use cropie armor, lotus equipment, elephant pet and the respective tool to make the most money. Only cropie armor and the upgraded tiers of it allow you to have a chance at dropping 1 squash. The reason being that it sells more than the crop by a significant amount. As of writing this article, you can sell squash for 120,000 coins, while pumpkins sell for 30 coins. Squash can only be dropped from melons, pumpkins, and cocoa beans. Squash is not affected by farming fortune.
Each crop has its own upgrades where you get more farming fortune when breaking the specific crop. It uses the copper currency which you can get from completing tasks for visitors. Visitors are NPCS who visit your island and offer you a trade. A visitor will appear every 15 minutes and offer you a trade. The most visitors you can have is 5. Visitors will stay until you accept or decline the trade. You can make visitors appear faster by making trades with unique visitors and harvesting crops.
If you wear 1 or 2 pieces of cropie armor, you have a 0.01% chance of dropping 1 squash. With 3 pieces of cropie armor, then you have a 0.02% chance, and with a full set, you have a 0.03% chance. The full set of cropie armor currently costs 41,000,000 coins. If you happen to be using cropie armor, you have a chance at dropping squash which is selling for a lot right now, but the longer you wait, the less money you will earn. With these money making methods, you can earn that back in a couple of hours. You need to be farming level 30 to use it.
No reforge is necessary for your equipment. You should have the lotus equipment which you can buy from the skymart. Each piece of lotus equipment is the same: there is a belt, necklace, bracelet, and a cloak.
Your armor reforge does not matter if you are using an elephant pet. However, if you are using a mooshroom cow pet, you should reforge your armor to ancient. To get the ancient reforge, you have to apply a precursor gear. You can get precursor gears from floor 7 or master mode 7. The reason you want ancient is because the mooshroom cow pet has a unique perk called “Farming Strength” which gives 1 farming fortune every 20 strength, and has a base farming fortune of 110 at level 100 hundred.
The reason why the mooshroom cow pet and necron armor is not good is because cropie armor and its upgraded tiers allow it to drop squash and fermento.
Another thing to note is that the higher your farming level is, the more money you will make since you get more farming fortune. You could also use the sunder enchantment which increases your farming fortune. While most of these are optional, they actually help a lot.
Pumpkins
One of the best crops to farm is pumpkins. It is a great source of farming experience and money. You will need more than 1 plot of pumpkins, because it will not grow back by the time you finish harvesting it. If you need farming experience, you can use a rabbit pet to boost the amount of farming experience you get. P0wer0wner tested harvesting 1 plot of pumpkins, which took around 20 minutes, and made 5,700,000 coins selling to the bazaar. That is 17,100,000 an hour! He has 3/4 cropie armor, rancher boots, clean lotus equipment, a recombobulated blessed pumpkin dicer enchanted with turbo-pumpkin 5, delicate 5, cultivating 7, and sunder 1, and his choice of pet is a level 100 legendary elephant pet. His gear and stats give him 620 farming fortune.
Cocoa Beans
Cocoa beans is another good crop to farm currently. If you have great gear including pets and the coco chopper, you will be making a lot of money, around 30,000,000 coins an hour. You only need 1 plot of it because it will grow back by the time you finish harvesting it. This will probably drop over the next few days with everyone competing with each other, so go quickly before the price drops.
You should use rancher boots for optimal speed.
P0wer0wner tested this and made 3,700.000 coins in 8 minutes, that is 27,750,000 coins an hour! He used the same gear as before except this time he used a coco chopper, with turbo-coco 5 and no reforge applied. Even Sweet Bootiee is farming this, and he is known as a legend in the farming community. He got 23,000,000 coins in 50 minutes. He sold the items again to the bazaar. Sweet Bootiee uses similar gear to P0wer0wner except he used a lantern helmet instead of a cropie helmet. The lantern helmet gives 1 farming fortune for every level you are in farming; for example, if you are farming 60 like Sweet Bootiee, you get an additional 60 farming fortune.
Cactus
Cactus is another great crop to farm. Not only do you make a lot of money, it requires the least amount of effort while farming. You can see this one-handed cactus farm by Menacing Banana here.
The main idea is that you farm only using your keyboard. You have attack set to space bar and jump to left-click. This means you can be on your phone, watching a movie, or even eat while you farm.
Menacing Banana farmed cactus for an hour, and he made 33,000,000 coins selling all the drops to the bazaar! 10,000,000 from 1 condensed fermento, 17,000,000 from cactus, and 6,000,000 from squash. Although that is a lot of money, keep in mind Menacing Banana has very good gear, and he gets 727 farming fortune.
If you are going to farm cactus, you should upgrade your cropie armor to squash armor because only squash armor and its upgraded version fermento armor give you the chance at dropping a fermento. As of writing this, 1 fermento sells for 660,000 coins. Wearing 1 or 2 pieces of squash armor allows you to have a 0.005% chance at dropping a fermento from cactus, and if you wear 3 pieces you get 0.006% chance. Wearing the full set gives a 0.007% at dropping 1 fermento. Fermento armor combines all the perks of each armor.
