This article is mostly for F2P players. If you’re a P2W players, small fish, dolphins or whales, this doesn’t really apply to you – since money limitation doesn’t matter to much. Since the resources is very limited and costly (For F2P: 3 celestial stones for 1 forma soul or for P2W: $29.99 for 1 formal soul), then there’re lots of consideration to take into account on how to choose which Hall of Forms hero to redeem with your precious forma soul.
Latest Update
The latest update to this game mode made it a bit easier for players to build a Hall of Forms hero to their liking. Now, there are 2 skills from each A, B and C skills to choose from – starting chambers 13 or higher every time player clear the stage. As a result of the latest change, I was able to have all the skills I want on this hero. Now the hard part is to decide whether I should use my precious forma souls or not.
Here’s my list of questions that I think can help in deciding whether to pick the HOF hero or not.
Is he/she your favorite hero?
I think that should be the first question you should answer. If the answer is yes, then you should pick him/her with your forma soul. Of course, make sure you get all the skills you want on your favorite hero before getting one. If the answer is no, then go to the next question.
Is he/she a meta hero?
If the hero is a meta unit, then get it. Having a copy of a meta hero can make your gameplay experience a lot easier. For example, ever since I got a copy of Fallen Edelgard, I’ve used her in many of game mode. It makes the game a lot easier than before. Only 1 copy of her is sufficient. If not, then go the next question.
Will you use the hero in most of the game mode?
If the answer is yes, then get the hero. If the answer is no, then skip. Why get a hero that will only collect dust in your barrack.
Will you be able to max out the hero?
Perhaps, the hero you’re considering of getting will only be used in a certain game mode. Then this is the question you want answered. Basically, if you can max out the hero to his/her full potential, then it’s worth it. Full potential means +10 merge with the best skills possible.
If you cannot answer “yes” to any of the question above, then my recommendation is to skip that hero. You’ll only be wasting your valuable resources.
Should I pick her?
Now, back to my own situation. Should I pick Ingrid this time? It’s a very good build. It’s the first time since IS introduced this game mode that I was able to have a very good build. Unfortunately, she’s not my favorite hero, not a meta unit, I will not use her in many game mode and I have no means on maxing her out. On top of that, she’s vulnerable to the new Duo Chrom+Robin. That means I won’t be picking her with my forma soul. I don’t need to pick her to “just” stay on the bench of my barrack.
By now, I have more than 500 heroes in my catalog. I only used a handful of them. In most game mode, we can only use 4 heroes. 6 heroes for Aether Raids. Game mode with most heroes required is Arena Assault with 28 heroes. Brigades’ mode needs 20 heroes. The new summoner duel needs 5 heroes. I have plenty of heroes to use already.
I hope this article can help you to decide whether to pick your Hall of Forms hero or not. Good luck!
