Ranking Issue in Fire Emblem Heroes (Mjolnir Strike)

Mjolnir’s Strike rewards page made me realized that I may have overlooked how the rank works in Fire Emblem Heroes. I knew that players may have the same rank. But, somehow when I saw the maximum rank in Mjolnir’s Strike, I just assume that to be the total number of players. Until today, I just didn’t realized it that number of Rank does not necessarily equal to number of players. It’s possible to have more players than the maximum number of ranks.

This week’s Mjolnir’s Strike is proof of that. Previous season, the top 9,021 rank in tier 7 advanced to tier 10. This season, there’re 10,125 rank in tier 10. Let’s take a look at the following screenshots. Note that these were taken during the counter phase.

As you can see, based on the “Check Rewards” page, I’m rank 1,546. However, based on the “Current Standing” page, I’m rank 1,651 and there are many other players in the same rank as me as they have the same score. Hmm, something still doesn’t seem right. Why would the rank be different, though? Shouldn’t it be the same?

In Alliegance Battles, the ranks are the same in current standing and the check rewards screens. In Aether raids, the same is true.

May be there’s a bug in the game? I’m sending feedback to IS.

About 10 minutes before the counter phase ended, I took another screenshot. It looks like the total number of rank in tier 10 have decreased by 1, from 10,125 to 10,124. Looks like either someone got banned, quit the game, or the system has issues verifying the total number of rank in the current tier.IMG_4323
