Mjolnir’s Strike Seasons 1 Through 4 — Fire Emblem Heroes

Mjolnir’s Strike is the latest game mode that was added to Fire Emblem Heroes mobile game. This week is the 4th season for this game mode.

This game mode has 4 phases: brace, shield, counter and rest phase. Brace: players set up their defense team. Shield: players actually play a game to get a high score, once is enough. But players can play multiple times and edit their defense team for higher score. The Shield phase only last 1 day though. Counter: players click a button to launch arrows up to 3 times. Rest: players simply wait until the next season.

Sounds like a pretty good concept. Unfortunately it doesn’t provide good experience due to too much waiting and lack of gameplay. All in all, it’s less than 5 minutes of gameplay and a couple weeks of waiting time.

The reward for this new game mode is divine code part 1. Not sure what it does. The developer hasn’t make any announcement of what we can do with it yet. I speculate that it will be used to get heroes from book 1 (similar to grails).

There are tier system like the arena or aether raids. As of the start of the 4th season of Mjolnir’s Strike, there are about 9K players in tier 10 (current highest). Only 20% of the player can advance to tier 13. 10% can advance to tier 12. 25% can advance to tier 11. 25% will stay in tier 10. 20% will drop to tier 9.

On the very 1st season of this game mode, there were about 309K players. On the 2nd season, of the 123K players that advance to tier 4, only 105K players play again. This means that we lost 18% of the players by the 2nd season (screenshot below).

On the 3rd season, of the 31.5K players that advance to tier 7, only 30K players play again. Almost 5% of players lost.

Something seems off this week (4th season) though. Based on the screenshot I took last season, there’s only 9,021 players advanced to tier 10. However, there are more than 10.1K players today. Where do the extra players come from? Could it be that players from tier 6 can jump 4 tiers?

Based on the projections, it seems that there’ll only be few players that reach tier 21 at the beginning. Then small number of players will join them every season. It took me about 4 months to get to the highest tier in aether raids. I guess, it may take a bit longer time for this mode as this mode score requirement is very similar to the arena.

My arena score is not high enough as my gacha luck in summoning is not as good as some other F2P players. A well-known F2P player (i.e. Akariss) is very lucky in summoning that he has +10 Eir, +10 Fjorm, +10 S.Xander, multiple legendary Tiki, multiple Naga, multiple Peony. My highest merged 5* exclusive hero is Legendary Marth at +4 and Legendary Tiki at +3.
