Fire Emblem Heroes: Minerva, Is She Any Good?

I got Minerva sometime last week. I didn’t send her to battle too much as my flier emblem team is still very weak. I am still missing the main flier heroine, Hinoka. Without her, there’s no Hone fliers.

I managed to get Minerva to level 40 the other day. I am still working on inheriting skills for her. But we can still evaluate her. Is she any good?

 

My version of Minerva is a +Def and -Res. I’ve only inherited Desperation skills to her so far. Other skills are her default skills.

Pros:
  • She has high attacking power. With Life and Death 3, her attack is 52. If she’s in a flier team that has hone fliers and goad fliers, her attack could be up to 66. She can defeat almost every heroes. She only lost to a few red units,
  • Her legendary weapon, Hauteclere, reduces the cool down of special moves. She can activate any special move faster.
Cons:
  • She has very low res, which means she’s very vulnerable to any mage. With her Life and Death skill, her res is even lower. Strong mage can 1 shot her.
Skills to inherit
  • Reposition. I think this is the best skill to inherit. With Reposition, she can help moving her teammate out of danger.
  • Bonfire or Draconic Aura. Without Life and Death 3, her defense is 35. If she gets the fortify fliers buff, her defense will be 42. With Bonfire, she’ll deliver 21 additional damage when Bonfire is activated. If she keeps LnD 3 and gets the hone fliers buff, her attack will be 58 (not including goad fliers buff). With Draconic Aura, she’ll deliver about 19 additional damage when the skill is activated.
  • Desperation 3. I think with her high speed, 38, it’s best to give her desperation as it allows her to attack consecutively when desperation is active.
Teammates

Minerva performs the best when she’s in a flier team. But she also perform quite well in a non-flier team. With her stats, she can defeat many enemies without buff. She’ll perform better with buff, though. I think the most important buff to give her is either attack or speed. Since she has very low res, make sure she has teammates that can Reposition her out of mages.

Conclusion

I think she’s one of the best flier heroine in this game. If you’re running a flier emblem team, you should definitely include her in the team.
