Fire Emblem Heroes: Nino, Is she any good?

Nino is the first heroine I upgraded to 5 stars. I didn’t really understand the IV system at the time. The version I have is actually +HP and -Res.

NinoSo, how good is she?

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • Gronnblade+ is an extremely powerful tome
  • Her base attack is pretty good
  • She’s pretty fast that she can double many heroes
  • She’s available from 3 stars

Cons:

  • She needs supports to be her best
  • Her defense is low that she’s vulnerable to melee attack

Nino’s Five Star Level 40 Conversation

Analysis:

Even though her IV is not the most optimal, she still perform reliably well for me. She’s available from 3 stars. Unfortunately, I am not sure why I don’t have many duplicates. So far, I only have 4 copies of Nino and none of them are the optimal IV.

Nino can defeat pretty much all of the blue heroes if she attack first. For example, she’ll win against Reinhart if she attacks first; but she’ll sometimes lose if Reinhart, equipped with death blow 3 and has the hone cavalry buff, attacks first. She can defeat most green heroes if her desperation skill is active. Nino can also defeat Hector as long as she gets the defense buff. She can’t defeat other green mages consistently as she encountered many other green mages that use green tome breaker. Despite her weapon triangle disadvantage, she can defeat a large chunk of red sword heroes as long as their A Skill is not Triangle Adept.

Nino is not that great if she goes to battle herself—she needs support from her allies to buff her stats. She can get up to 16 additional damage on top of her normal damage per every attack due to her blade tome weapon. Epharim or Eirika can provide great support for Nino to get up to 13 additional damage. If you bring 2 dancers and either Ephraim or Eirika, Nino can pretty much defeat all enemies on the map by herself.

In my opinion, Nino is really good heroine. She’s one of the best in the game. As long as her IV is not -Speed or -Attack and she has allies that can buff her stats, she’ll perform well.
