If feathers is not such a rare commodity in Fire Emblem Heroes game, I would’ve already upgraded all of my heroes. I had to pick and choose which heroes I want to upgrade. Xander is the 3rd hero that I upgraded to 5 stars after Nino and Camus.

Let’s evaluate whether he’s worth the upgrade.
Analysis:
Pros:
- His legendary weapon, Siegfried, has a built-in distant counter skill
- His defense is very high
- He’s very similar to Hector but with better movement
- He’s really good if he gets the buff from other cavalry teammates
Cons:
- His resistance is very low, making him very vulnerable against mages
- He’s pretty slow and many will double him
- He’s mediocre in a non-cavalry team
So, is he any good? With the right build and the right team, he’s very formidable. He can take on most units. Though he can’t KO all of them, he can at least weaken them and have your other hero finish the battle. With his low resistance, don’t leave him where mages can attack him.
When playing in quest with multiple stages, make sure to bring a healer along to replenish his HP due to fury damage.
In my opinion, he’s among the top hero in this game but with weakness. He’s definitely worth the upgrade.
