It’s September 18, 2016.
A few days ago, we spotted another Dragonite. Our area has been really lucky, as a bunch of Dragonites have been spotted.
Wow! It has CP ???! That means its higher than any Pokémon I currently have. My highest was a 2017 Vaporeon. I couldn’t let this one get away.
I throw one ultra ball and give it a razzberry.
It breaks free.
I throw another ultra ball and give it another razzberry.
And it runs away… On the third Pokéball.
I was so disappointed.
Skip ahead a few hours and another Dragonite appears!
Woo Hoo!
I was so excited!
I happily tap it…
I was so terribly excited I forgot to take a screenshot.
But I caught it.
I mean…
It’s a Dragonite, at least.
It was a really low level, it only required 200 stardust to power up.
Skip ahead 3 days to September 21.
ANOTHER Dragonite was spotted. I was so excited. We live in a hilly area and Dragonite has a higher chance of appearing in hilly areas.
Other people told me it was down the hill.
I sprint at least 300 feet, running down a bunch of stairs and cutting through grass.
I tap it.
It was 958, but at least it was higher than 48.
I get a nice curveball with an ultra ball and a razzberry.
It RUNS AWAY on the first Pokéball.
I get so mad.
And then the guy next to me is like “YAY I caught it!”
And now my Dragonite catch rate is 40%, since 2/5 * 100 = 40%.
