Which one to get? Xbox One or PS4

Black Friday is almost here. There are good deals everywhere. It’s a good time to get one or both systems at this time of the year. Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Microsoft Store are all having a big sale already.

If you have the money, get both systems. If you can only afford one, it’s a pretty hard decision to make as both has positives and negatives. See the full article for more.

GAMING:

Both Xbox One and PS4 are great gaming machines. Depending on which types of games you like, you can’t go wrong with your choice. Currently, Xbox One has more AAA games than PS4. PS4 has more indie games at this time than Xbox One.

ONLINE/NETWORK:

Both services are paid services. Xbox Live network is better than PSN. PSN has regular network maintenance where the network will be down for several hours every a few weeks. Xbox Live doesn’t have any regular maintenance. PSN is down a bit more compared to Xbox Live. Xbox Live is also more secure than PSN. So, if you like online gaming, Xbox One is a better choice.

HARDWARE AND FEATURES:

Both Xbox One and PS4 have very similar hardware. PS4 has an edge with faster RAM and better graphics card. Xbox One has more features built in to the machine. PS4 has remote play and share play. Xbox One has multimedia capabilities, DLNA, Skype, Fitness, SmartGlass, multi tasking, suspend-resume, voice command, cable integration, external Hard Drive support, etc. PS4 is mostly for gaming, while Xbox One is an all-in-one gaming/multimedia machine (more like an iPhone).

CONTROLLER:

Depending on who you talk to, you might get a different answer regarding which controller is better. As for me, I prefer the Xbox One controller than the PS4 because of the following: better battery, impulse triggers. Xbox One uses a regular AA battery (you can use rechargeable too if you like). It lasted a long time (40+ hours). PS4 uses a built in rechargeable battery (not removable) that lasted about 6-8 hours. Xbox One has impulse triggers. This is something that you have to experience it yourself to know how good it is.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

If you live in the US, then there’s no question that Microsoft has a much better customer service than Sony. If there’s an issue with your PSN account (such as fraudulent purchase), and you ask your bank for the charge back, it’s very likely that you’ll get banned. Sony is not helping. With Microsoft, if you have issue and there’s a Microsoft Store in your area, just go there. I have been very happy with Microsoft Customer Service (at the store) so far.

PRICE/VALUES:

This holiday season, Xbox One offers a better price if compared with PS4. At $349 for the Xbox One bundle with 2 games (AC: Black Flag and Unity). On Black Friday, the price for the Xbox One AC bundle is even better at $329. Or at Walmart, you can get an Xbox One bundle with Halo MCC (4 Halo games) for $329 and a $30 gift card. The best PS4 bundle with GTA V and the Last of Us is at $399 (Black Friday Only). So price wise, Xbox One is better for this Black Friday.

CONCLUSION:

If you can afford only 1 system, I’d recommend getting an Xbox One over PS4 this holiday season (Black Friday). As a customer, you get a better value for the price you pay for Xbox One. Plus, if there’s a Microsoft Store near by, you can always go to the store to resolve any issues you might have. In addition, Xbox One has been getting updates more frequently compared to PS4.
